Abu Dhabi Day Trip from Dubai: Mosque, Louvre and Yas Island
By the Idea Holiday team · 4 min read
Short answer
Abu Dhabi is about a 90-minute drive from Dubai, and it makes a good day trip or a one-night stay. The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, the Louvre Abu Dhabi and Yas Island cover most of a day. The tourist visa rules are the same as for Dubai, so check your visa with us before you travel.
Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque
The mosque is one of the largest in the UAE. Visitors must dress modestly and follow the dress code at the entrance, and visiting hours can change, so check them before you go.
Louvre Abu Dhabi
The museum displays art and objects from many cultures under a large dome. Allow two to three hours, and go in the late morning when the light through the dome is at its best.
Yas Island
Yas Island has Ferrari World, the Yas Waterworld and the Yas Marina. It is a full day of rides and shopping, so choose one or two parks and leave time for the marina.
Plan the drive
Hire a car with a driver for the day, or join a tour from Dubai. Traffic can be heavy around the city, so start early.
